Services Overview

Bike Shop will be closed starting May 2, 2025.

Every tune-up or service starts with a FREE Assessment. From there we will help you determine the best course of action based on your bike, your goals and your budget. Turn-around times for services varies based on the season. We will do our best to let you know the expected wait time when you bring your bike into the shop.

Do It Yourself Stand Time
DIY-Stand-Time

Cost: Public $15 per hour /UMass Lowell (UML) Free

We offer free do it yourself stand time during our open hours. Do it yourself (DIY) stand time is a great way to gain hands on mechanical experience on your bike when you need it as well as save some money on repairs. Bike shop staff will help you perform an initial assessment and help you get oriented to the shop. They are present for occasional consultation and limited basic instruction. In the event that you need a bike shop mechanic to do the work or give you their attention though the entire repair we will charge the normal labor rate for that service. We are happy to teach and we also need to maintain a functional and efficient bike shop.

DIY Stand Time Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

  • Complete our adult before using the DIY stands
  • Participants must go through initial bike shop orientation and sign in each time they use the DIY stands
  • Participants are encouraged to register their bike.
  • DIY stand time is first come, first served and may not be available during peak times
  • Parts must be purchased prior to installation on your bicycle
  • No overnight storage allowed in bike shop for personal bicycles used for DIY repairs
  • Tool and workspace priority goes to bike shop staff to complete their customer work
  • Only use tools that are designated for public use
  • Put back tools properly and clean up after yourself
  • Work within your skillset; use shop mechanics and written materials to help expand your skillset
  • Ask for help if needed to avoid breaking tools or components; if you break something tell bike shop staff
  • Safety precautions include:
    • Wear closed toe shoes and appropriate personal protective equipment as needed. Gloves, goggles, and aprons are available for DIY repairs.
    • Clean all debris and liquids left over from repairs
    • Use tools only for their intended purpose
    • Report all accidents to bike shop staff immediately
