Free Wheeler Station Information

Free Wheeler bicycles must be returned by 7 p.m. daily or earlier depending on location operating hours. Current Free Wheeler stations include the Campus Recreation Center (CRC) and Bike Shop / Outdoor Center. Free Wheelers are available to rent mid-March through Mid-December, weather permitting.

Spring Semester Hours (Through April 30)

  • Monday - Thursday: 6:30 a.m. - 11 p.m.
  • Friday: 6:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.

CRC Holiday and Break Hours


Patriot's Day Weekend

  • Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Monday, April 21: Noon - 11 p.m.

Finals Week (May 1-9)

  • Reading Day, Thursday, May 1: 6:30 a.m. - 11 p.m.
  • Friday, May 2: 6:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Monday - Friday, May 5-9: 6:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.

University Snow Closures

  • The CRC will close when the university is closed for snow over winter break.
  • When the university is closed for snow during the semester, closures or adjustments to CRC or Riverview Fitness Center (RFC) operating hours will be posted on the .

The Bike Shop will be closed starting May 2, 2025.

  • Free Wheelers rental bikes will be available for checkout at the Campus Recreation Center this summer.
  • Spring Semester Shop Hours (through May 1)

    • Saturday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
    • Sunday and Monday: Closed
