Summer 2024 students鈥 testimonies:

Over the summer I had the opportunity to experience the study abroad opportunity that the Spanish Department was offering in C谩diz, Spain. This experience not only helped me to practice my Spanish skills, but it also allowed me to learn about a new culture. Engaging in the cultural activities offered during the trip, such as a cooking lesson and a flamenco performance, provided me with a new understanding of Spanish culture. In addition, these experiences helped to familiarize me with the local culture while practicing my Spanish skills. I recommend this trip for people looking to learn about a new culture and practice their language skills in Spanish.
Santiago Andrews (Summer 2024)

C谩diz was an amazing experience in learning about the language and culture of Spain. In class, I was absorbed in a Spanish environment that brought my skills to the next level in a short amount of time. Through the extracurricular opportunities, I learned about the rich culture of C谩diz while having a great time. Cadiz was transformative in expanding both my abilities and enthusiasm for Spanish and I would relive my experience in a heartbeat.
Jack Fahey (Summer 2024)

My experience at C谩diz was life-changing. Not only was I able to immerse myself in a culture that was very similar to my own, but I was also able to refine a part of myself that I'm not able to do in the United States. Staying in C谩diz for 2 weeks took me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible. I took solo adventures, took advantage of the 18-hour days and beautiful sunsets, and laughed at everything with friends I made along the way. To this day, I often think about the time I had at C谩diz.
Jeremiah Adames (Summer 2024)

C谩diz was such an incredible experience. The city is so beautiful and simple to navigate once you get used to it. You're never bored, as there's always something new to do. I learned so much both in and out of school, culturally and linguistically. If you're someone like me who has never traveled out of the country, this was a perfect first experience to have and I feel much more confident to travel again in the future!
