David Daniel was the 2004 Jack Kerouac Writer-in-Residence at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He has served as a consultant to Walter Salles's forthcoming on Jack Kerouac鈥檚 "On The Road". His novel The Heaven Stone was the winner of the contest and a Shamus Award nominee. Daniel鈥檚 works include "Ark", "Murder at the Baseball Hall of Fame", "The Tuesday Man", "Reunion", "The Marble Kite", "Goofy Foot", "White Rabbit", as well as over 80 published short stories. He is also the co-author of a college English text, "Take Charge of Your Writing" and has written 300 articles, book and music reviews.

Daniel was born in Boston but grew up in Weymouth, MA. He currently lives in Westford, MA, with his family and teaches at , as well as being a professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
